Hama looked further as their vessel came closer to the village. "Yes, that is!" she said. They docked. Hama walked off. "Kanna!" she called out.

Kanna looked over and was shocked. "Hama!" she said, going over as fast as her old bones could take her. She hugged her old friend. Kopaka meanwhile stood behind Hama.

Hama returned the hug. "It's been too long, Kanna. After years in a Fire Nation prison, I managed to use my waterbending to escape and now I am here again," she said, choosing not to mention her bloodbending technique just yet.

Kanna smiled before noticing Kopaka. "Well hello young one." Kanna smiled. "I'm Kopaka, Hama's grandson." the boy smiled.

Hama nodded, thinking of how to explain this. "I am raising him now," she stated. In the Fire Nation, David and Ty Lee finally arrived at her family's beach house. "Let's hope your parents allow me to stay," he said.

"Grandma taught me waterbending!" Kopaka smiled.
Tylee introduced David to her family. They were just as kind as her and welcomed David in.

Kanna's young granddaughter, Katara, emerged. "Did I here that right? There's another waterbender here?" she asked. Back at Ember Island, David was thankful. He had taken up a room in the family's guest bedroom. "Ty Lee, thank you to you and your family for your kindness to this simple firebender," he said, gesturing at himself.

"This is my granddaughter Katara. Katara, this is Hama, the greatest waterbender in this or any other tribe." Kanna smiled, introducing her 13 year old granddaughter to Hama. "Hama, I know it's sudden, however it would mean the world to Katara if you trained her." Kanna said.

Hama smiled proudly. "I would be honored to train her," she said. Katara became excited and went to find her brother Sokka. "Sokka, I'm going to be a waterbender!" she said.

"Oh yeah Katara, who's gonna teach you water magic?" Sokka asked.
Meanwhile Kopaka wasted no time assimilating into the tribe.

Katara smiled. "Only the best teacher in the world. She's an old friend of Gran-Gran's," she said. Hama walked up behind them. "Tomorrow, your training begins," she said.

Sokka was not convinced. " yeah right, you two play water master all you want, I'll be training the troops." he said.

Katara laughed at her brother. "You have fun doing that," she said. At the beach house, after dinner, David and Ty Lee were spending some time looking out at the ocean. "Ty Lee, could you refrain from telling anyone that I am a firebender? And ask your family to do the same? I don't want word of my ability reaching the firelord," he said.

"It's ok, but Zuko's Uncle could train you." she suggested.
Kopaka followed Sokka and offered to help him train the 'troops'

David nodded. He knew that she meant Iroh. "Maybe I will have to track him down and ask if he will be my master when I have the chance," he said.
