Anakin looked at him. "I would have thought Palpatine would have dissolved that immediately. However, I will go before the senate and ask for their consent," he said.

They met with the senate in private. After getting consent, and learning Vapaad, Anakin was ready to face Palpatine.

Anakin said goodbye to Padme and headed in. Anakin looked at Palpatine. "Greetings, my master," he said, though only to keep up appearances of being a Sith apprentice.

Anakin smiled. "I never intended to truly follow you!" he said, igniting his own lightsaber and leaping at Palpatine.

The two dueled intensely. Anakin had also had his arm regrown by the jedi sage Typhonus, so the force flowed fully through his body.

Anakin said nothing during the battle. Now he understood how Master Windu had felt. He continued to channel the Force, waiting to strike the final blow. Suddenly, the spirit of Darth Plagueis manifested in Palpatine's mind. "You will lose, Palpatine. You will join in death the family you murdered so long ago!" he said in an almost demented tone.

Palpatine was slain. His body desolved into darkness.

Anakin sighed. It was done. The Sith lord who had hurt so many was dead. However, though Palpatine's body was destroyed, his spirit was not. Anakin rushed back to Padme. "It's done. He is dead. Time to go before the senate to be crowned," he said.

They rushed to the jedi temple's medical wing. There were two babies, one boy, one girl.

Anakin was shocked. Twins. She had given no sign of twins. "What should we name them?" he asked.
