Balto looked at him determinedly. "I'm going back to Nome tomorrow to see if I can be of any help. Likely, they will need a dog team to get the needed medicine, and I hope to be chosen as lead dog," he said.

The next day came. Balto woke up, ate and prepared for his moment. He left for Nome. The meeting soon began, and it was determined that a sled team would be used. Balto made his way into the line of potential lead dogs. Simba walked with Zuba as he looked. Simba turned to his uncle. "Uncle Zuba, I know this will generate debate, but, under the circumstances, I suggest you take Balto as your lead dog. I got the chance to pet him the other day, and he didn't even attempt to bite. Also, he's younger than Steele," he said.

Zuba smiled, "If it'll make you happy simba then I might choose Balto." He said to him.

Mufasa came over. "I would do it if I were you, Zuba. You must make your pic and get going. We need a fast dog to lead your team, and, despite his heritage, Balto is that dog," he said.
