Mako was overjoyed. As they left the restaurant, he held Asami's hand. "Thank you," he whispered in her ear.

Mako was proud of his young pupil Pohatu for asking when he would do this. It had spurred him on.

The day of the wedding came, but so far no Pohatu, they were about to call off the wedding to find him when Pohatu arrived with Asami's mother, Korra, Bolin and Mako's parents and san's father. Asami and Hirosi were moved to tears. The young Avatar had been in the spirit world to bring these lost loved ones to the wedding.

Mako was shocked by what he was seeing, especially the sight of Korra, dead for so long but now standing before him once more.
