My Past
I, Gia the jaguar, would like to speak of a new matter
The matter in question is my past
For the longest time, I have never known where I came from
I have only known my time in the circus
Also, I have found a place as the mate of Alex the lion
However, Vitaly has seen fit to reveal to me the past I have never known
When we were cubs, he looked out for me
He was apparently told of my past from one who knew it by listening to the humans
This one was the kindly old female panther who watched us, Mara
She was one of the original stars of our circus
Now, I speak my past
I was born in an animal facility in Italy
But I was taken from my parents while still very young
When the keepers were bringing me into the menagerie, they spoke of me
They called me Gia, and that is the name I grew up knowing
Mara heard them and when asked about it by Vitaly, she explained it
She also instructed him to keep it a secret until I was old enough
The time came and now I know
I must give it some thought
However, I will not dwell on it forever, for I am now in my future
My future with my beloved Alex
