It tells the story of Theron Shan, secret son of Jedi Knight Satele Shan and Republic soldier Jace Malcom and a Republic intelligence officer.

I just started the book, so I don't know. All I know so far is that they had a relationship at some point (they had fought together against the Sith a few times).
