I am Hakara, mate of Vitani
Today is a special day, my beloved Vitani
Earlier this morning, you gave me a precious new son, Jerba
This morning, as the sun rises, we all gather for our boy's presentation
As the sun rises, Rafiki gives out that haunting, beautiful call
All our subjects come to Pride Rock
Before long it is time
I smile proudly as Rafiki applies the a mark of fruit juice to our son's forehead
It is a proud moment
Soon, Rafiki takes Jerba from you and heads for the edge
To our delight, he then holds him up for all to view
There is a burst of noise from the other animals
The trumpeting of elephants
The sounds of zebras
The shouts of monkeys
It is the happiest day of my life
What a happy day this is, Vitani
You have given me a cub of my own
Now, his life as prince of Pride Rock begins
He is such a beautiful cub
Seeing this reminds me of the stories your parents told me of your presentation
By their word, you were a very active cub, trying to swat at passing butterflies
After a few moments, you were ready to go back to your mother
I have seen the same thing here
Now, the ceremony is over
