I am Steele

Now, following my return from the brink of madness, I have settled down

I took Ice, the love of my life, as my mate

Together, we had five pups

There are three lovely daughters and two sons

On this day, I rest peacefully

The past is long forgotten

I no longer hold any guilt

I am at peace

As I rest, I suddenly feel a tiny tug at my ear

I feel the little poke of puppy teeth

It is one of my daughters

It is an invitation to play

Her brothers and sisters show up

I do not want to hurt their feelings, so I go along

Together, we go running

As I watch, I am so proud

For a moment, it reminds me of when I would play with Aleu and her siblings

Balto was right

Having pups is a great joy

I am having the time of my life

I never thought that I would feel this way

However, things have changed for the better

Finally, they start to get tired

I take them back to their mother

As I do, I wish it could last forever

But I know that wishing that is useless

They will have to find homes very soon

After that, they will begin to grow

I will miss these days

Hopefully, they will remember this
