Josiah was actually impressed. He decided to continue on and, when the opportunity was right, destroy one of the sabers. His lightsaber hilt was made of lightsaber-resisting phrik metal.

Maya's light saber hilt was lined with Cortosis and shorted out his lightsaber. She then sliced off his saber arm.
