Alex kissed her in return and then drifted off to sleep. However, it was not to last, as his worry over his impending fatherhood caused him to have a nightmare of the day that he was taken from his father as a cub. Suddenly, he awoke with a loud shout.

Alex took several long, deep breaths. "No, Gia. I had a nightmare about the day I was taken away from my parents as a cub," he said.

Alex fell back onto the straw pile. "What if I'm a terrible father? I never had a fatherly role model in the zoo," he said.
