I disapproved at first, but then realized that she needs to make her own way. I'm fine as long as she doesn't smuggle spice or other illegal things for the Hutts or the Exchange.

I bet that his record of only 'legitimate ' smuggling such as getting Polictical prisoners to safety and getting relief supplies to those who needed them and weapons to anti-sith resistance endeared him to you.
