Aniu looked down. "First, you must know what troubles him. You see, when Humphrey was a baby, I was the guardian of the village in which he lived. Under cover of darkness, Lord Taka attacked and murdered most of the citizens, including Humphrey's parents. I helped his aunt and other relatives slip him and his brothers out of danger. That is when we came to the valley," she said.

Aniu sighed sadly. "The day the village was destroyed was such a horrible day. Lord Taka chose to wipe out the wolf village because his sister-in-law, Empress Sarabi, prophesied that one day, he would be killed by a warrior of grey and white," she continued.
