Here's an Idea
Rajjah is second in command under Ramose and the two of them find Mufasa, Sarabi, Alex and Tama with baby Simba. Rjjah stops Ramose from killing the child by stabbing him and throwing the corpse to the crocs, then leaves Mufasa and Sarabi with his vow he saw nothing.

Then, after that, we set baby Simba adrift and he is found by Zira and adopted into the royal family. After that, we move ahead to Simba and Nuka as young adults.

Yes, and Rajjah and Tigress can be Shere Khan's Parents and the adopted Parents of Cub Baggera. they side with Simba, and thus are spared the plauges.
